UNICEF INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND DESIGN
I participated in the Playright Inclusive Playground Charity Art Workshop with my family a while back. The goal of the workshop was to learn, design and create a model of an inclusive playground that would be showcased in the UNICEF Inclusive Play Space Design Ideas Competitions Prize Presentation at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Before this, I had not heard about the concept of inclusive playground before, and I was humbled by my ignorance of not considering the accessibility of physically challenged children to different park facilities. I was glad to have participated in this charity art workshop, so that I could become more aware and compassionate towards the less fortunate. The ramp leading up to the slide is geared towards making it more accessible for kids using wheelchairs.

This experience opened my eyes and helped me become more observant towards the people in our community who aren’t able to access the facilities we take for granted.

It also piqued my interest in youth advocacy, and as I grew older, it blossomed into advocating for underprivileged children’ education in Hong Kong. Once my school life became more hectic, I would often stop to appreciate what I had, as I realized that this wasn’t the case for everyone. It led me to join other youth organizations in Hong Kong, in hopes of providing a better education for those in my generation.
