ADVOCACY

Advocating for causes is a life-time companion.  My passion for youth advocacy started when I was very young, and it first bloomed when my family and I collaborated with UNICEF to design an inclusive playground that was accessible for kids with disabilities or were wheelchair bound. This later blossomed into advocating for equal education for youths and spreading mental health awareness among teens and young adults.

More recently, while writing an essay discussing the benefits and disadvantages of online school, and whether it would be able to be a replacement for physical school, I realized that many children don’t have the opportunity of a proper education. I decided to dedicate myself towards advocating and providing a chance of education to the less fortunate children in Hong Kong. I participated in various activities, spreading awareness for drug usage and mental health with the KELY support group, reading to children with Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Program, and I even had the chance to teach a class of young kids English with Society for Community Organization.
